Kindle Unlimited...Is it really unlimited?

So, I recently decided I would give my Kindle Unlimited free trial a go. I've been in a book slump as of late and I figured why not check it out. Before going any further I want to say, this is no way a sponsor or promotion for Kindle Unlimited. I just wanted to let anyone know my experience with it. Without the free trial, Kindle Unlimited costs $9.99 per month. You do not have to have an Amazon Prime account to subscribe for Kindle Unlimited.  This gives you access to thousands of titles and you can read any of them at any time. However, you are limited to how many books you can keep on your device at one time. I was very disappointed in this because I wanted to download all the ones that caught my eye and kinda cycle through what I wanted. Sadly, I had to return a few to read the ones I really thought I'd enjoy. For some people this might not be an issue. Especially if you're a person who reads one book at a time and really don't switch between others. I like to read two or three books at any given time and will rotate through them until I complete them. I'll start a new book once I finish one of them. It's a never ending cycle. One thing I found to be helpful with kindle unlimited is you can search by genre and filter by only what's offered with kindle unlimited. I also utilized my goodreads account to look up the books and see if they have a series or if they are the first book in a series. I noticed that sometimes kindle really lacks the proper guidance when it comes to what order the books go in at times. Especially if you're using your phone's web browser to get a new book.

Another plus side to Kindle Unlimited is you can get audio books with your free book. A few of the books I've recently read came with the matching audio book. I'm not a huge fan of listening to other people read the book to me, but I know it's a big hit with many people. I've also seen you can download magazines and read through them. Again, I'm not a huge magazine person. I'd assume that's pretty useful for people who enjoy them, but might not want to pay the magazine subscription pricing. I do wish that there were more popular fantasy novels available through this, but I realize the that some authors aren't necessarily into offering their stories through that. I'm managing to find some pretty interesting reads without that though. All in all, I think if you're like me and love to read and go through books quickly, then Kindle Unlimited is probably worth the time and money. I know some people can get a up to a 60 day free trial too, so if you're still hesitant give the free trial a go. I do recommend setting a reminder when your trial is almost over to go cancel the subscription or you'll be charged the $9.99. Later on in another post, I'll list what books I've read with Kindle Unlimited and say whether they were really good or if they were just a time filler read.
