Real Dirty Duet (Boone & Ripley) is Amazing!

For some reason, I missed this series when I started reading Meghan's books. I don't know how, but I'm so happy I found them. Meghan posted on Instagram that the first book (Real Dirty) was on sale for $0.99 and I didn't know what the book was. Of course I went out and bought it real fast. Let me say, it was AMAZING. I loved everything about the book. Boone & Ripley are a force to be reckoned with. Ripley is a bartender at a dying bar and Boone is the biggest Country Music Star in Nashville. Ripley has sworn off dating celebrities and Boone's girlfriend goes off and gets married to another man in Vegas. The two couldn't be more different, but these two can't stay away from each other. Boone is determined to win Ripley over. The stories are so much more than the characters' brief descriptions.  "You character ain't forged when things are going your way. It's forged when sh*t gets ugly, messy, and hard. It's about how you pick yourself up from those cheap shots and keep trucking forward." Boone says this to Ripley and the quote resonates inside me. How Meghan comes up with these inspirational quotes every book floors me. It's a quote that is so relatable because everyone has those moments in life where we want to give up, but when we persevere our outcomes are better. We learn more through our failures than we do through wins and that's what Meghan is saying in her book. Book 1 makes mention of  a previous character from the (Real Good Duet). Logan's story is told in a different story and that will be reviewed later.

The second book (Real Sexy) picks up after a somewhat major cliff hanger. OMG am I glad I didn't have to wait to go out and buy the second book. I can't imagine the readers who finished the first and were stuck in limbo until the next release. I won't give away any spoilers, but let's just say a certain someone's cousin is evil and I wanted to reach through the book and slap her. There was another pleasant surprise in this book, Ripley has a hidden talent that ends up changing her world forever. I honestly didn't see it coming, but that could be because I was caught up in other drama that was going down during this whole story. Boone is trying his hardest to keep Ripley and show her she is worthy of everything life is throwing her way, but she's stubborn and believes she's full of bad luck. Boone wants Ripley to understand that her past doesn't define her and her future isn't predetermined. You'll get to meet Boone's amazing family and see how great he really is. Real Sexy is my favorite in the duet. So many characters make an appearance too (Greer/Cav, Eden/Bishop, Crey/Holly, Cannon). I love when Meghan does this and she kept with the trend. I'd highly recommend this duet because I loved it. I finished these two in about 48 hours and it was worth the sleep deprivation. I'll be starting my re-read of Creighton & Holly now because I need a refresher on their story ASAP.

Side note: At the end of Real Dirty & Real Sexy, there is a sneak peek for Meghan's newest duet Black Sheep!!! Can't wait for that one to come out!
